About the Jets: Now 3-2-1 on their current road trip, the longest of the NHL season, after Sunday’s 3-zip loss to the Rangers… Jets power play ranks 21st overall and was 0-for-3 in the loss to New Jersey on Saturday and 0-for-4 against the Rangers… Jim Slater is tied with three other skaters for the top shooting percentage in the NHL: 33.3 per cent… Ondrej Pavelec is expected to make his seventh straight start in goal against the Sabres… Winnipeg opened the trip with a 9-8 win over Philly and has the same goals total over the last five games.
About the Sabres: Sit second in the Northeast Division with a 8-5-0 record, but are just 3-4 at home… Bad news for the Jets’ attempt to jump-start their power play: The Sabres rank first overall in penalty killing this season, having surrendered just three goals in 45 chances… Sabres Thomas Vanek is off to a scorching start with eight goals and eight assists in 13 games… Rookie netminder Jhonas Enroth is 4-0 with a sparkling 1.41 goals against average and .952 save percentage.
