Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 03/12/2011 (5061 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
WINNIPEGGER Travis Zajac will not be in the lineup tonight when his New Jersey Devils visit the Jets. Zajac tore his Achilles tendon during off-season training and won’t even be at the game, as he is back in New Jersey skating.
“I definitely feel for him. He was excited once he saw the Jets were coming back,” Zach Parise told Rich Chere of The Newark Star-Ledger. “Right away he was talking about being able to go back there and play. So I definitely feel for him not having that opportunity. Good thing we go there (again) when he should be playing (Jan. 14).
“It sounds like he’s coming along. Hopefully he’ll be ready soon.”
It does sound like Johan Hedberg, the former Manitoba Moose netminder, will be in net for the Devils. Hedberg played for the Moose in 2000-01 and 2003-04.
“I had a great experience there. That was actually my first year in North America,” Hedberg told the Star-Ledger. “I got traded during the Olympics and finished off the year there. Two years later I came back when San Jose signed me.
“It was fun. It’s a great hockey town. It’s going to be fun to go back…”
