About the Jets

Have won two games this week and suddenly, four of their last six…Winnipeg still struggles to score goals, with just nine in its last eight games, but has counted two shootout wins in that duration…With three extra-time wins in a row since Jan. 31, the Jets are now 6-6 when games go beyond 60 minutes… F Kyle Wellwood is expected back in the lineup today. He missed two games with the flu… C Tim Stapleton may also be reactivated today after missing nine games with a lower-body injury… LW Evander Kane scored Thursday for the first time in 2012, ending his 11-game goals drought…The Jets have moved their road record to 10-16-4, not good but there are three teams (Washington, Tampa Bay and Carolina) with fewer road wins in the conference… After today’s game, the Jets will have 10 road games and 15 home games remaining on their schedule.

About the Penguins

Have righted an earlier stumble and gone 7-2-1 in the last 10, the most recent game a point obtained via a shootout loss to Montreal… C Jordan Staal returns to the lineup today after missing 15 games because of a knee injury… Pittsburgh remains without C Sidney Crosby and RW Aaron Asham of Portage la Prairie. Both players skated before the Penguins’ practice on Friday but remain on the injury reserve list… Going into Friday night’s play, C Evgeni Malkin led the NHL scoring race with 62 points.
