The potential targets

Players most-likely to be on the move if the Jets deal:

TANNER GLASS, LW

Gritty, character-type who is in the NHL’s top 10 in hits and may draw interest. A Prairie boy who wants to stay here.

Salary/status: $750,000/unrestricted free agent this summer.

JIM SLATER, C

Decent face-off man who centres arguably the league’s most-popular checking line along with Tanner Glass and Chris Thorburn. Would be a solid depth addition for a team taking a championship run.

Salary/status: $1 million/unrestricted free agent.

KYLE WELLWOOD, C/W

Versatile vet who can play wing and centre and has a PhD in hockey intelligence.

Salary/status: $700,000/unrestricted free agent.

JOHNNY ODUYA, D

Probably the Jet rumoured the most to be on the move.

Salary/status: $3.5 million/unrestricted free agent.

RANDY JONES, D

Steady stay-at-home type whose experience may pique interest.

Salary/status: $1.15 million/unrestricted free agent.

CHRIS MASON, G

Ron Hainsey
Ron Hainsey

So many teams seem to have goaltending concerns and his numbers and his maturity might make him attractive.

Salary/status: $1.85 million/unrestricted free agent.

TIM STAPLETON, C/W

More to his game than he gets credit for; versatile and popular in the room.

Salary/status: $525,000/unrestricted free agent.

MARK FLOOD, D

Good foot soldier type who has earned the trust of Claude Noel.

Salary/status: $525,000/unrestricted free agent.

ANTTI MIETTINEN, RW

Waived his no-movement clause when asked by Jets management. Would be attractive to a rival team who took in his career body of work, not just his time in Winnipeg.

Salary/status: $1,532,107/first of two-year deal.

ERIC FEHR, RW

No question Jets’ brass is frustrated, but may be better evaluated when his shoulders are 100 per cent and after a full training camp.

Salary/status: $2.2 million/restricted free agent.

The untouchables

Not changing hockey addresses any time soon:

Johnny Oduya
Johnny Oduya

ONDREJ PAVELEC, G

A franchise goaltender who is becoming one of the NHL’s elite.

Salary/status: $1.15 million/restricted free agent.

ANDREW LADD, LW

Respected captain whose offensive numbers are growing lately.

Salary/status: $4.4 million/signed to a five-year deal last summer

BLAKE WHEELER, RW

Emerging as a dominant power forward.

Salary/status: $2.55 million/signed to a two-year extension last summer.

ZACH BOGOSIAN, D

Could be wearing Jet colours for years to come.

Salary/status: $2.5 million/signed new two-year deal in September.

ALEX BURMISTROV, C/W

Has earned top-six minutes and showing more consistency in his game. Oodles of upside.

Salary/status: $1.5 million/two years left on entry-level contract.

DUSTIN BYFUGLIEN, D

His game is still developing. Improved fitness could make him a dominant force.

Tribune Media MCT
Tobias Enstrom

Salary/status: $5.2 million/five years remaining.

EVANDER KANE, LW

Leads the Jets with 24 goals and those totals could soar.

Salary/status: $3.1 million/last year of entry-level contract.

If the deal’s a dream

Most likely staying, but…:

TOBIAS ENSTROM, D

A gifted offensive defenceman that every NHL team covets — especially at this time of year.

Salary/status: $3.75 million/two years remaining.

BRYAN LITTLE, C

Streaky offensively, but works well on top line with Ladd and Wheeler.

Salary/status: $2,383,333/two years remaining.

MARK STUART, D

Oozes leadership and character. Will do anything for his team.

Salary/status: $1.7 million/three years remaining.

CHRIS THORBURN, RW

See above.

Salary/status: $866,667/three years remaining.

Tough to move

Players who cashed in on juicy contracts under previous management and, as a result, may make them difficult to deal before today:

RON HAINSEY, D

Steady and capable.

Salary/status: $4.5 million/two years remaining.

NIK ANTROPOV, C/W

Now getting fourth-line minutes. Can play inspired, but often leaves everyone wanting more.

Salary/status: $4,062,500/two years remaining.
