THE Winnipeg Jets will try to get things started with a bang today at the MTS Centre, inviting the public to watch their first official post-lockout practice.
The team will work out between noon and 1 p.m. Admission is free, though subject to the arena’s seating capacity of 15,004, and doors will open at 11:30 a.m.
Today, every fan in attendance will receive a voucher for one complementary 24 oz. fountain beverage and one complementary regular popcorn.
The team’s official merchandise store, Jets Gear, will be open and offering all merchandise at a discount of 25 per cent off regular prices today.
The Jets’ official training camp will be a short one, beginning today and lasting until Friday.
Twenty-four players are expected to be on the ice today.
The Jets are listing defencemen Zach Bogosian and Derek Meech on their training camp roster but both players are sidelined with injuries.
After today’s action, the team will practise each morning the rest of the week at the MTS Centre, with the exception of Wednesday at the MTS Iceplex.
The skates at the MTS Centre are not scheduled to be open to fans. Wednesday’s workout at the MTS Iceplex at 10:30 a.m. will be available for public viewing.
