ABOUT THE CAPS

— The Caps’ 4-9-1 road record is among the worst in the NHL, but does include a 3-0 win over Winnipeg back on March 2nd.

— Former Jet Eric Fehr has six goals and six assists and leads the Caps in plus-minus at plus-7.

— Since starting the season 1-5-1, the Caps have been exactly .500 (11-11-0).

— Washington’s power-play is third-ranked in the NHL, but it’s penalty-kill unit is 29th.

— Alex Ovechkin fired 14 shots in Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Pittsburgh, hitting the net four times. He has 30 shot attempts in the last two games.

— Cap D-man Mike Green declared himself ready to return to action against the Jets after missing 10 straight with a groin injury, but coach Adam Oates wasn’t ready to make that commitment just yet. “Obviously we need Mike. We’ve got to make sure he is ready. I know he wants to play,” Oates told The Washington Post. “I know he wants to play, but we’ve gone down this path before. He was ready to play last time and it lasted two days.”

Green has missed 93 of the Capitals’ last 193 regular-season games due to an assortment of hurts.
