үӯ ABOUT THE CAPS
— The Capitals, now members of the Metropolitan Division, are out of the gate with a 3-5-0 mark, including 3-3 at home so far. Tonight’s game marks the beginning of a season-long five-game road trip that also goes to Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Philadelphia.

— Through eight games, Washington’s scoring leader is no surprise. Alex Ovechkin has seven goals and 10 points in the eight games so far, but is minus-5.
— C Mikhail Grabovski hasn’t been a bad pickup for the Caps. Cast off by the Leafs during the off-season, Grabovski has three goals and six points so far.
— Two of Washington’s three wins this season have come against Western Conference teams, Edmonton and Calgary.
— As of Monday, the Caps are bringing the NHL’s top power-play to the MTS Centre tonight. Washington was running at 33 per cent, 10 for 30 so far.
