HELPING HAND
Whichever Jet has been giving Mark Scheifele faceoff tips should keep it up: In addition to a sharp night on the ice, the rookie forward had his best night at the dot, finishing with 57 per cent. That’s one of his top three performances this season, just short of his best of 60 per cent, set against Minnesota back on Oct. 10. Most other games, he’s hovered around the 40 per cent mark or below.
STANDING TALL
Sure, he gave up four goals, but salute a brave solider in Caps netminder Braden Holtby. Yes, it’s impressive he turned away 47 shots, some of them awfully dangerous, and faced a bundle of odd-man Jets rushes. What really impressed us, though, is he did those things while not actually throttling the Caps forwards, who took a decidedly casual approach to their defensive games.
UP NEXT
The Jets pack their bags for Nashville where they kick off a four-game roadie against the Predators on Thursday. Puck will drop at 7 p.m.
