★ Wild forward Mikko Koivu accounted for all the Wild scoring, notching goals in the first and third periods to earn Minnesota a hard-fought win.
★★ Wild forward Zach Parise is worth the price of admission at Xcel Energy Centre all by himself and was a presence everytime he stepped on the ice last night.
★★★ Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien’s goal early in the 3rd period was the defenceman’s fourth in four games.
COMEBACK STALLS:
Winnipeg’s 3rd period comeback attempt Sunday night would have been the 4th time they’d come back to win this season when trailing after two periods. But after tying the game 1-1 early in the third, the Jets gave up the game-winner late in the 3rd last night when Wild forward Mikko Koivu notched his second of the game.
QUOTEABLE:
“I thought we played a pretty good road game. I thought we made some mistakes that led to the defensive zone faceoff that led to the goal that led to the game.”
— Jets head coach Claude Noel on how a defensive lapse late in the third period spoiled an otherwise decent effort by his team
