IN a policy rethink, the Winnipeg Jets have returned to former rules regarding ticket availability on their Seat Exchange website.
Once again, individual game tickets for Jets home games at the MTS Centre offered for sale by season-ticket subscribers are available to the general public.
The Jets promote the Seat Exchange website as the only authorized avenue to acquire guaranteed-legitimate Jets’ home-game tickets.
During the summer, the team, in a desire to provide more perks for season-ticket waitlist customers, had decided to restrict Seat Exchange tickets to those folks on the waiting list.
After limiting the customer base to only those on the waiting list, there have been numerous reports this season of an abundance of tickets for sale for some games.
The team sent the revised policy decision to its season-ticket and wait-list customers last Friday and it’s effective immediately.
Reacquainting with Central Division
NOW catching up with some of their Western Conference peers in their record against the Eastern Conference (now 8-3-1), the Jets come back to a week of facing Central Division foes.
The Blues are here tonight, Colorado on Thursday and Dallas on Saturday afternoon.
Winnipeg just finished a six-game road trip against eastern teams, going 4-2.
“I don’t think we forgot what conference we’re in because we went out east,” Jets coach Claude Noel said Monday. “I think there will be quick reminder of that against St. Louis. We won’t forget too quickly. It should be a good challenge.”
Noel and others said Monday they see the opportunity available this week.
“I think we see it as an opportunity to gain ground and get back in the playoff mix, which I think is exciting for this group,” Jets captain Andrew Ladd said. “We’re looking forward to St. Louis.”
When they started their trip, the Jets were eight points off the Western Conference playoff line. Today, they are seven away.
Kane, Bogosian still on the mend
THE Jets were again without left-winger Evander Kane at practice on Monday. Kane has now missed three games with a lower-body injury suffered Nov. 29 in Philadelphia.
Noel said he’s day-to-day and will need some practice time when he’s ready before he’ll get back into the lineup.
On the matter of defenceman Zach Bogosian and his groin strain, Noel did not paint an optimistic picture on Monday, saying Bogosian has hit a “bump in the road.”
He has missed 10 games and his absence has no end in sight.
