үӯ HAT-TIP TO PAVELEC:

CP

Lost in all the two-point performances by six different Jets on this night was the play by Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec, who made 20 saves — and a couple especially big ones in the third period in particular when his team was under siege.

“At the end of the day, we needed some good things to happen and one of them is your goalie,” said Jets head coach Paul Maurice. “People will look 5-2 and say it was an easy night for him. There was a time we needed him. I don’t think he was necessarily the difference in the game. But he was a critical piece for us.”

үӯ TROUBA ON TROUBA:

Jets defenceman Jacob Trouba, who led his team in ice-time and played more like a five-year NHL veteran last night than the rookie he is, was asked if it’s all getting “old-hat” to him at this point.

“Not really. It’s all still pretty new and I’m just trying to enjoy it as much as I can. Hopefully, I will get used to it as I go. I’m learning a lot from other players and coaches, soaking it all up and trying to enjoy it.”
