BLUES OUT

The Blues were missing a couple of key players last night.

Forward Vladimir Tarasenko, who scored his 21st goal of the season in a St. Louis win over Nashville on Saturday, is out for at least the rest of the regular season with a hand injury he suffered in that same Nashville game.

And T.J. Oshie, who leads the Blues in scoring this season, missed last night’s game after his fiancée gave birth earlier in the day to their first child, a girl.

FACEOFF ON

Winnipeg’s performance in the faceoff circle has improved dramatically in recent weeks, although it’s not like it had anywhere to go but up.

Heading into last night, the Jets had won the battle in the fac-off circle in six of their previous seven games. That improved their league-wide standing from dead last to 28th, with a 46.5 per cent efficiency.

UP NEXT:

The Jets now scoot back to Winnipeg for a pair of games at the MTS Centre, Wednesday vs. the Colorado Avalanche and Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
