 NIGHT OFF:

Jets captain Andrew Ladd missed his first game after playing 233 straight for the Jets after his wife gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday. Baby, mother, brother and father are all doing well. The Jets expect Ladd to be back in the lineup Thursday against the Sharks in San Jose.

 AN A FOR YOU:

Jets coach Paul Maurice left the C on Ladd’s jersey saying, “That’s an honour for just one man with the Winnipeg Jets,” but added an extra alternate for the night in Blake Wheeler. Mark Stuart and Olli Jokinen wore their usual A’s on their jerseys. The Jets recalled Patrice Cormier and Carl Klingberg to fill in for Ladd and Cormier was put in the lineup. Klingberg was re-assigned to St. John’s prior to game time. Defenceman Zach Bogosian (upper body injury) was kept out of the lineup as well. Paul Postma drew in.

UP NEXT:

Winnipeg continues its five-game road trip visiting the Sharks on Thursday at 9:30 p.m. The game is on TSN Jets and TSN 1290.
