ABOUT THE AVS

The Avs, after a 112-point season, are off to a poor start this time around, dropping six of their first seven games (1-4-2). But Friday, the team had a break-out 7-3 over the visiting Vancouver Canucks.

In that win, Jarome Iginla, Matt Duchene and Tyson Barrie each had three-point nights.

With an assist last Tuesday, Iginla reached 1,171 points in his career and passed Bobby Hull into 49th place on the NHL’s all-time points list.

Colorado (minus-8) and Winnipeg (minus-7) are the only two Central Division teams with under-water goals ratios so far this season.
