ABOUT THE AVS
The Avalanche (9-13-6) are winless in their last four games and are coming into tonight’s game at Pepsi Center against the Winnipeg Jets off a 3-0 shutout loss to the Nashville Predators at home on Tuesday.
Blue-liner Tyson Barrie leads the Avs in scoring with 20 points, including three goals. Centres Matt Duchene and Nathan MacKinnon are next with 18 points apiece.
The Jets and Avalanche met most recently Dec. 5 at the MTS Centre. Winnipeg won 6-2.
With Tuesday’s shutout loss to the Predators, the Avs are now just 5-7-2 at home this season.
The Avalanche have had difficulties scoring all season long and have been held to two goals or less 15 times, including four shutout losses. Colorado’s goal differential this season is minus-20, third worst in the Western Conference — ahead of just the Arizona Coyotes (minus-24) and Edmonton Oilers (minus-34).
