L.A. continues a three-game road trip Sunday. It began with a game in Anaheim Friday night. Heading into that one, the Kings had gone 8-1 in their previous nine, their eight-game winning streak stopped Thursday night at home by Ottawa. The winning streak helped the team rejoin the race for Western Conference playoff spots.

Heading into Friday’s game, the Kings were riding their No. 1 goalie hard. G Jonathan Quick had started 17 games in a row.

For all their earlier struggles, the Kings are one of the NHL’s better five-on-five teams. Heading into Friday’s game, their chart was 113-98, goals for and against.

C Tyler Toffoli leads the Kings this season with 19 goals and is third in overall team scoring with 38 points, behind only C Jeff Carter (46 points) and C Anze Kopitar (44). Toffoli averages five fewer minutes per game in ice time.

The Kings have had a miserable time this year when games go beyond 60 minutes. They are 2-12 in overtime/shootouts.

L.A. has struggled at times this season, but has only one losing month, by record. That was January, at 3-4-4.
