ABOUT THE SENS
- The Sens roll into Winnipeg on a back-to-back, having played in St. Paul against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Prior to the Wild contest they had won five straight and were 7-2-1 in their last 10.
Their date with the Jets concludes a five-game road trip and is Ottawa’s only stop in Winnipeg this season.
- Ottawa has 13 back-to-backs this season and (heading into Tuesday) is 3-3-3 on the front end and 4-5-0 in the second game.
- The Sens knocked off the Sharks in San Jose on Saturday, completing the first three-game road sweep of their California opponents in franchise history.
- Forward Jared Cowen, who is eligible to return to the lineup following a three-game suspension, was not scheduled to play against the Wild because of illness but could be back against the Jets.
- The Sens, like the Jets, have been built heavily through the draft. Here’s how their lineup breaks down: draft (18): Borowiecki, Ceci, Condra, Cowen, Greening, Gryba, Hoffman, Karlsson, Lazar, Lehner, Neil, Pageau, Phillips, Puempel, Smith, Stone, Wiercioch, Zibanejad. Trade (6): Anderson, Chiasson, Methot, Michalek, Ryan, Turris. Free agency (3): Hammond, Legwand, MacArthur.
