The Lightning return home after collecting three of four points on a two-game road trip. The Lightning set a franchise record with their 26th home win of the season Saturday night against Dallas. Tampa has won 15 of their past 17 games at Amalie Arena. The Lightning have gone 9-1-2 against Winnipeg/Altanta on home ice since the beginning of the 2009-10 season. The Lightning beat the Jets 4-2 in the first meeting of the season Oct. 24 at the MTS Centre.
Steven Stamkos has 37 goals on the season and nine in his last 13 games. Stamkos ranks third in the NHL in goals and 12th in scoring. He has 247 goals since the beginning of the 2009-10 season, second only to Alex Ovechkin at 248.
The Lightning enter tonight’s game as the NHL’s highest-scoring team with 223 goals, with the next-closest team (New York Islanders) 11 goals back. Tampa’s 26 home victories rank first overall, as does its ROW (regulation/OT wins) total of 40. The Lightning’s plus-45 goal differential ranks second overall in the league. Tampa Bay has scored 87 third-period markers, a league best.
