ABOUT THE LIGHTNING
— The 4-2-1 Lightning come to town for their only visit of the season off a 5-4 shootout loss in Nashville on Tuesday. This is Game 2 of a four-game road trip through the Central Division for Tampa Bay. And the Central stretch continues with a fifth straight game back in Tampa against Colorado next week.
— Centre Steven Stamkos is out of the gate hot, with five goals in the team’s first seven games. As of Thursday, his shooting percentage so far, 26.3, was tied for the league lead among players who have taken at least 15 shots this season.
— The Lightning’s penalty kill, 29th in the NHL at 66.7 per cent, had a clean night against Nashville, nullifying all three Predators power plays.

— The Jets and Lightning split their two games last season, each winning in the other’s building. Tampa Bay won in Winnipeg, 4-2, in October while the Jets took the March game in Florida, 2-1.
— You might be surprised at who lead’s Tampa Bay in average ice time early this season. It’s workhorse defenceman Anton Stralman, at 21 minutes 52 seconds per game so far. Stralman has chipped in with five assists.
