ABOUT THE STARS The Stars return home after a three-game road trip that saw them go winless (0-2-1), including a 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden Tuesday night. Dallas has now trailed by at least two goals entering the third period in three straight games and in four of the past five, going 0-3-1 in the process. Patrick Sharp picked up an assist Tuesday night and now has points in 10 consecutive games (6G, 7A). It is the best streak of his 14-year career. Sharp currently ranks third on the club with 16 goals this season and fourth in points (35). Five of his goals have been game- winners. The Stars and Jets have met once before this season, also in Dallas, with the home side exiting with a 6-3 victory back on Nov. 12. Ales Hemsky, who is currently injured, had three points (1G, 2A) in that win. Dallas' 28-10-4 record is the second-best in franchise history through 42 games, trailing only the 1998-99 squad (27-8-7, 61 points).
