- GAME 75: Jets (31-37-6) at Sabres (30-34-10)
- Puck drop: Saturday, noon.
- TV: TSN3; Radio: TSN 1290
ABOUT THE SABRES
- -Buffalo hasn’t played since Tuesday and a 3-2 win over Carolina in Raleigh, N.C. The Sabres rallied with two goals a minute apart — including Evander Kane’s 20th of the season — in the final five minutes for the victory.
- -Kane hit the 20-goal mark for the first time since 2011-12 when he had 30 for the Jets.
- The Sabres are 15-12-2 since Jan. 10th, including a 4-2 victory over Winnipeg at MTS Centre in Kane’s return that started this current stretch.
- Buffalo is an even 16-16-4 on the road, but just 14-18-6 at the First Niagara Center.
- Buffalo added two college players this week in Hudson Fasching (University of Minnesota) and Casey Nelson (Minnesota State-Mankato), both of whom were on the ice for the first time with the Sabres on Thursday.
- The Sabres have four goaltenders on their roster, including Winnipegger Jason Kasdorf, a Jets draft pick who came over in last winter’s blockbuster with Winnipeg. A former Portage Terrier who played his college hockey at RPI, Kasdorf tweaked his groin at the end of the collegiate season and just recently returned to the ice. Robin Lehner has a wonky ankle and was to be evaluated by team doctors on Saturday.
- Zach Bogosian has scored five goals and 11 points in his last 15 games.
“I’ve been feeling confident the last month or so,” Bogosian told The Buffalo News this week. “After the All-Star break, I came back with some rest, fresh mindset and just try to help the team in any way possible. I like where my game’s going. I’ve just got to keep it up.”
