Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 13/12/2016 (3215 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
AND on the 61st and 62nd days, they rested.
The Winnipeg Jets stayed away from the rink Monday and aren’t scheduled to skate today, either.
Suggesting the Jets have earned a “staycation” is a tough sell considering the NHL club just returned from a weekend in Alberta still licking their wounds after a 6-2 loss to the Calgary Flames and a 3-2 defeat to the Edmonton Oilers on consecutive nights.
The deciding goal at fabulous Rogers Place in Edmonton — for readers who have been locked in a room without a newspaper, TV or Twitter until just this moment — came when Jets rookie sensation Patrik Laine swatted the puck into his own net with less than nine minutes to go in the third period.
Winnipeg (13-16-3) has lost three straight contests and has just four victories in its last 14 games, dating back to Nov. 17.
The Jets are ninth in the Western Conference, just a point up on the Nashville Predators, who have played five fewer games.
Players will make their annual holiday visits to local hospitals Wednesday afternoon.
