Anaheim (39-23-11), second in the Pacific Division, is coming off a 4-3 victory over the visiting Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night. D Hampus Lindholm had a goal and two assists, while G Jonathan Bernier made 29 saves.
Captain C Ryan Getzlaf has 15 points (3G, 12A) in 10 games since the club had its bye week, Feb. 26 to March 2. Getzlaf, in his 12th season with Anaheim, is among the league’s assist leaders with 48 and has scored 14 goals of his own. Swedish-born centre Rickard Rakell has a team-high 32 goals.
Wednesday’s battle with the Oilers was LW Andrew Cogliano’s 777th consecutive game, moving him into fourth place on the NHL’s all-time list of consecutive games played. He passed former Buffalo F Craig Ramsay, who played all 14 of his seasons for the Sabres.
G John Gibson has appeared in 49 games for the Ducks this season and has a 23-16-8 record, a 2.29 goals-against average and save percentage of .921. His partner, G Jonathan Bernier, is 16-7-3 with a 2.52 GAA and .917 SP.
Randy Carlyle will be behind the Anaheim bench for his 778th game as an NHL head coach, tying him for 40th on the all-time list with Emile Francis.
