About the DEVILS
New Jersey (34-25-8) is hanging tough in the Eastern Conference playoff race and currently hold the first wild-card spot. The Devils are also within striking distance of the top three in the Metropolitan Division, just five points back of first-place Washington.
LW Taylor Hall is the hottest player in the NHL, with points in 26 straight games. He leads New Jersey in scoring by a huge margin (30 G, 44A) and has emerged as a potential Hart Trophy candidate as league MVP.
C Nico Hischier, the No. 1 pick in last summer’s NHL draft, is having a solid first year (13G, 28A), as is fellow rookie LW Jesper Bratt (13G, 21A).

New Jersey bolstered their lineup at the trade deadline, adding speedy RW Michael Grabner (25G, 6A) and power LW Patrick Maroon (15G, 19A).
Rookie D Will Butcher, fresh off a successful collegiate career, leads the way on the blue-line (2G, 30A).
Winnipeg-born C Travis Zajac (10G, 10A) missed 17 games earlier this season due to injury, while former Winnipeg Jets RW Drew Stafford (8G, 4A) has struggled to produce after signing a free-agent deal.
Former Manitoba Moose G Cory Schneider (17-13-6, 2.80 GAA, .912 SV%) leads the way in net for the Devils but has battled injuries this season.
New Jersey has the NHL’s ninth-best power play at 21.3%, while their penalty killing is eighth-best at 82.6%
