Nashville is 48-15-10, including 23 victories on the road, and is tied with Tampa Bay (51-19-4). The squad has high hopes for a long playoff run and a berth in its second-straight Stanley Cup final representing the Western Conference. A year ago, the Preds lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL’s championship series.

Take a close look at the league’s top-50 point-getters and you won’t see the name of a single Nashville player. This is a squad that succeeds with balanced scoring, defensive diligence and sensational goaltending. LW Viktor Arvidsson leads the team with 27 goals and 56 points, LW Kevin Fiala has 23 goals and LW Filip Forsberg and C Craig Smith each has 21. A rock-solid blue-liner corps is led by P.K. Subban, Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis.

G Pekka Rinne is having a Vezina Trophy-caliber season. He has 40 victories, second only to Tampa Bay’s Andrei Vasilevskiy, and has just 10 defeats. His goals-against average is 2.26 and he owns a .929 save percentage.
