Game 4, Winnipeg Jets at Minnesota Wild

(Jets lead best-of-seven opening-round series 2-1)

About the WILD

– Coming off a convincing 6-2 romp over the Jets on Sunday, Minnesota will be looking to even the best-of-seven opening-round series tonight in the friendly confines of Xcel Energy Center.

– Veteran C Mikko Koivu set up first-period power-play goals by RW Mikael Granlund and LW Zach Parise in a huge win to get back into the series, and leads the club with four points, all helpers. Parise, meanwhile, has three goals, while Granlund has a goal and a pair of assists.

– G Devan Dubnyk started his third straight game, allowing two goals on 31 shots in Game 3. Winnipeg RW Blake Wheeler bounced one in off the side of his pads early in the game and D Tyler Myers sailed a long-range shot past him in the second period. But he made a brilliant save off LW Nikolaj Ehlers with the Jets on the power play and the Wild holding a slim 3-2 lead.

– LW Marcus Foligno had three hits, including a hard check on D Jacob Trouba just minutes into the game. He fell into Myers late in the second period, and the Winnipeg blue-liner was injured on the play. Replays showed Foligno might have used his fist to jab at Myers’ knee as they were falling.

– The Wild killed off four of five Winnipeg power plays, and lit the lamp twice on three opportunities with the man advantage.
