-- G Jordan Binnington continued his stellar play with 24 stops in Wednesday’s 2-1 triumph in over Winnipeg in Game 1. The 25-year-old rookie from Richmond Hill, Ont., has been a huge factor for St. Louis since he was promoted from the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage and took over as the Blues’ No. 1 man. Binnington posted a 24-5-1 record with an 1.87 goals-against average and .927 save percentage during the regular season.
-- D Alex Pietrangelo led the Blues with 25:23 of ice time in Game 1, with C Ryan O’Reilly (22:42), D Jay Bouwmeester (20:56) and D Colton Parayko (20:53) close behind. O’Reilly, widely viewed as the NHL’s top faceoff man, won 14 of 27 draws, which accounted for almost half of the game’s 62 faceoffs.
