Kyle Connor is getting another shot with the Winnipeg Jets.
The skilled young forward was called up Monday from the Manitoba Moose to take the spot of Mathieu Perreault, who left Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury after blocking a shot late in the second period.
Perreault has been placed on injured reserve. Coach Paul Maurice said he’s expected to miss at least four weeks.

Connor, 20, took in his place at practice Monday morning on a line with Bryan Little and Patrik Laine. Connor has three goals and two assists in four games with the Moose this season. He played in 20 games with the Jets last season, putting up two goals and three assists.
Defenceman Dmitry Kulikov was also absent from practice after taking a big hit Saturday and leaving the game early. Maurice said he could miss up to two weeks. Tucker Poolman will take his spot in the lineup in Tuesday’s home game against Columbus.
Adam Lowry was also not skating Monday. He missed Saturday’s game with an upper-body injury. And veteran forward Matt Hendricks was on the ice in a yellow non-contact jersey. He’s missed the first five games of the season and being injured in a pre-season game.
Maurice said both have an outside chance of being ready to play Friday when Winnipeg hosts Minnesota.
Maurice confirmed that goalie Steve Mason will start in goal Tuesday. He struggled in his first two games, both losses. Connor Hellebuyck then played the next three, which were all wins for the Jets.
The Jets did get some good news Monday, as forward Nikolaj Ehlers was named the NHL’s first star of the week.

Ehlers, 20, had five goals and two assists in three games last week.
