Re-enforcement is on its way💪 @nhljets #whiteout

A post shared by Teemu Selanne (@sel8nneteemu) on

The Winnipeg Jets got a last-minute surprise addition to their playoff lineup Monday night. Or at least the cheering section, in this case.

Hall-of-Famer Teemu Selanne flew into town just in time to join the Whiteout and attend Game 6 against the Nashville Predators at Bell MTS Place.

Selanne posted a pair of links on his Instagram page earlier in the day that got locals buzzing. The first showed a flight map out of California, where he lives. The second was a video of his family on a plane. The camera panned around the interior of the flight, eventually finding Selanne sitting in the cockpit beside the pilot wearing an original Jets jersey with his name on the back. He turns to the camera, holds up the logo on his jersey and shouts “Go Jets Go.”

“Re-enforcement is on its way,” the caption on Selanne’s post read.

He made it to the rink just in time for the 8:30 p.m. puck drop and was seated in one of the suites.
