The Winnipeg Jets have added a veteran forward to fight for playing time on the club’s fourth line.
Gabriel Bourque, who has 361 NHL games under his belt, agreed to a one-year, two-way contract worth US$700,000 if he makes the Jets, the Central Division squad announced Monday.
The 28-year-old suited up for 55 games with the Colorado Avalanche last season, collecting two goals and six assists.
Over eight seasons, he has 38 goals and 97 points.
Bourque, a left-winger, was drafted in the fifth round (132nd overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 2009 NHL draft.
