Jets stay connected to Sunshine State

The Winnipeg Jets are maintaining their connection to Florida.

The NHL club is keeping the Jacksonville Icemen as its ECHL affiliate for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

The Jets’ AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, swapped players in and out of their lineup from Jacksonville during the 2017-18 season, the inaugural campaign of the Icemen.

"We look forward to our prospects furthering their development with (Jacksonville) head coach Jason Christie and his staff," said Craig Heisinger, the Jets’ senior vice-president, director of hockey operations/assistant general manager, in a statement Wednesday.

The Icemen posted a record of 26-39-4-3 and finished fifth in the ECHL’s South Division. A total of 13 players spent time on the roster of both the Icemen and Moose.
