ABOUT THE OILERS

— C Connor McDavid (foot) didn’t finish the game after blocking a shot in 4-1 win over Montreal Saturday. X-rays came back negative and McDavid is expected to play tonight in Winnipeg. The victory brought the 17-17-2 Oilers back to .500 for the first time since Game 2 of the regular season. McDavid leads the club with 43 points in 36 games, including 14 goals.

— G Cam Talbot made 29 saves against the Canadiens and has now won seven straight, a career best winning streak.

— D Andrej Sekera (knee) played his first two games since May 5 prior to the Christmas break and was a welcome addition to the Oilers back end, going pointless while averaging 18:06 of ice time. D Oscar Klefbom (upper body) has been placed on injured reserve and his status is uncertain for tonight’s game against the Jets.

— LW Mike Cammalleri has been a good addition since being acquired from Los Angeles, scoring seven points in 15 games with the Oilers.

— Edmonton’s power play is operating at 16.83 per cent, which is good for 22nd overall in the NHL. The team’s penalty killers have been 72.81 efficient, which is 31st and dead last in the league. The Oilers are fourth overall in shots per game (34.61), 27th in shots against per game (30.17), 11th in goals for per game (3.00) and 21th in goals-against (3.11).
