- Minnesota will be looking to rebound from Wednesday’s 3-2 loss in Game 1 and even up the series before it heads back to St. Paul for Game 3 (Sunday) and Game 4 (Tuesday).

-C Matt Cullen and LW Zach Parise scored the Wild goals in the series opener. C Mikko Koivu, LW Jordan Greenway, RW Mikael Granlund and D Nate Prosser had the assists.

-The top line of C Eric Staal, LW Jason Zucker and RW Nino Niederreiter were held in check Wednesday, generating just two scoring chances. Niederreiter did lead all Wild players with seven hits.

-C Joel Eriksson Ek was briefly knocked out of the game after taking a big hit from Winnipeg D Dustin Byfuglien. He returned to action but missed Thursday’s practice, so his status for Game 2 is unknown. He led the Wild with four shots on goal.

-D Matt Dumba played a game-high 30:03, as the Wild are forced to try to fill the void left by an injury to No. 1 D Ryan Suter.

-Minnesota went 0-for-1 on the powerplay and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill.
