OFFENCE
The Lions defence mauled the Bombers attack, and the unhappy victims bled themselves out further as they flailed. The Bombers coughed up 24 points off of turnovers even before the half, so bad the Lions offence actually had fewer first downs after 30 minutes despite leading 33-14, what with the Lions getting three defensive touchdowns and all.
Worse: just when it seemed like the Bombers’ game of quarterback musical chairs had ended with Max Hall on a seat, the music started up again. After Hall struggled through the first half — yeah, he threw two touchdown passes, but there’s no glory there given that he also threw two picks — Jason Boltus came in for the third, and promptly chucked out a pick of his own. Later he fumbled to turn the ball over at the Bombers’ 12-yard line. Let’s move on.
We’d talk about the receivers, but there wasn’t too was much to see there, other than Clarence Denmark pulling down some good catches in coverage.
DEFENCE
It was easy to forget the defence had some doozies too. For instance, consider the middle of the first, when cornerback Brandon Stewart gave Lions receiver Nick Moore a prairie mile of breathing room near the Bombers end zone. Moore was so open that he barely broke a walk to carry in Thomas DeMarco’s 25-yard touchdown throw.
SPECIAL TEAMS
On the plus side, nothing they could have done would have made any real difference in the outcome of the game. On the minus side, Mike Renaud booted a punt out of bounds and Sandro DeAngelis missed a 39-yard field-goal attempt.
CRITICAL NUMBERS

The Bombers turned the ball over seven times and that’s almost always an automatic route to a rout. And it was on this night.
