HAMILTON – Anthony Novak scored in the third minute to help lift Forge FC to a 3-0 win over Pacific FC on Wednesday for the Hamilton-based team’s first victory in the Canadian Premier League.

Emery Welshman added a 14th-minute goal for Forge FC (1-1-1) and Giuliano Frano scored the game’s third goal in the 70th minute in front of 5,861 spectators at Tim Hortons Field.

Forge FC’s Dominic Samuel was handed a yellow card late in the second half.

The Victoria-based Pacific FC fell to 1-2-0 on the inaugural CPL season.

The seven CPL teams will each play 28 regular-season games, 14 home and 14 away.
