LONDON (AP) — Fulham couldn’t convert any of its 24 efforts on goal as it was held to 0-0 by Everton in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic had 10 of those efforts but only one of them was on target as the Serbia international was unable to add to his nine league goals for the season.

Jordan Pickford also made a number of key stops to keep Fulham at bay, with both teams’ goalkeepers combining to make eight saves in the first half alone.

The best save came from Pickford to deny Mitrovic’s header in the first half as the England international was at full stretch to steer the effort over the bar.

Fulham went into the game in seventh place and having scored 22 goals — behind only Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham before the weekend’s games — but drew a rare blank against manager Marco Silva’s former club.

Mitrovic was perhaps fortunate to avoid a red card when he planted his studs onto Idrissa Gueye’s ankle in the first half, while Fulham was denied a penalty when Willian was tripped by Gueye in the area.

Mitrovic had another opportunity in the 61st when he was picked out by Bobby Decordova-Reid at the far post. The prolific forward controlled the ball on his chest before taking a shot but the ball flew harmlessly over the crossbar.
