After a two-and-a-half-hour air quality delay to kick off, Valour FC posted a 0-0 draw against Pacific FC Sunday.

The game started rough with the host Winnipeg side’s Bruno Figueiredo and Pacific’s Josh Heard each shown a yellow card in the early minutes of the match.

In the 41st minute, Valour midfielder Kris Twardek rolled the ball in off the post, but offside was the call on the field and the goal disallowed.

The home side had the most chances, outshooting their opponents 12 to four, with five shots landing on target compared to Pacific’s one.

The hosts had a dangerous chance in the 66th minute, delivered by midfielder Diogo Ressurreicao, but the resulting corner kick would come up empty. The club also made a tremendous push in stoppage time, but the visitors managed to keep the game scoreless.

Improving to a record of 1-5-2 and earning a much-needed point with the draw, Valour hosts Vancouver FC at Princess Auto Stadium on Wednesday, where they can tie Vancouver in the standings with a draw, or leapfrog over the visiting club from the basement of the standings with a win.
