Canada’s head coach Cindy Tye has named her roster for next month’s under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

The 21-player roster includes three goalkeepers, five defenders, eight midfielders and five forwards for the tournament, which runs from Sept. 5 through 27.

Six alternates will also travel with the group to Poland to help the team prepare and leave before the World Cup begins.

Players, coaches and staff will gather in Lublin, Poland, on Aug. 23, then move to their tournament base camp in Bielsko-Biala on Aug. 30 where the team will play a closed-door game against Spain on Aug. 31.

Canada, one of 24 nations in the tournament, is in Group B and will begin play against England on Sept. 5 before taking on Brazil on Sept. 8. The squad will wrap the group stage on Sept. 11 against Tanzania.

The Canadians earned their U-20 World Cup berth at the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship, where the country won the regional title for the third time.

“Winning the CONCACAF championship was an important achievement for this group and gave us a lot of confidence, but we also know the World Cup will bring a different level of challenge,” Tye said in a release.

“We’ll be facing some of the best teams in the world, and we want the players to embrace that challenge, compete with confidence and make the most of the opportunity to represent Canada on this stage.”
