Winnipeggers are getting a little bit more time to enjoy social libations this month.
The Liquor and Gaming Authority of Manitoba (LGA) announced on May 27 that Winnipeg liquor service licensees can opt to serve until 3 a.m., with a further hour to clear. The optional extension will be in operation for the duration of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 matches played in Winnipeg between June 8 and 16 and during the Winnipeg Jazz Festival, which runs June 11 to 21.
All liquor service licensees who wish to extend service hours during these periods are required to notify the LGA.
“The LGA would like to remind everyone to please enjoy these events responsibly,” a statement from the provincial regulatory agency read.
