Conservative incumbent Scot Davidson has won the riding of York-Simcoe.

The riding has been held by the Conservatives since 2004. Davidson first won there in a 2019 byelection, and was re-elected in the general election later that year.

Davidson was born and raised in Georgina, Ont., where he still lives. Prior to entering politics, he was a businessman.

Davidson successfully fended off challenges from Liberal candidate Daniella Johnson, who has worked as a case worker for Ontario Works, and NDP candidate Benjamin Jenkins, a biologist.

During his time in Parliament, Davidson has sat on several committees, including the COVID-19 and veterans affairs committees.

Polling for the riding had Davidson with a strong lead over the Liberal candidate. In his 2019 win he replaced fellow Conservative Peter Van Loan, who had held the seat from 2004 to his 2018 retirement.
