Hey there, time traveller!

Get ready, music fans. Rolling Loud, the world’s largest hip hop festival, is coming to Toronto for the first time ever this September.
The three-day event, which will take over Ontario Place on Sept. 9-11, will be headlined by mumble-core titan Future, acclaimed British rapper Dave and Nigerian singer and Afro-pop legend Wizkid. Other standout names include Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, Roddy Rich and dozens more.
The GTA is also well-represented in the lineup — fans will be able to check out shows by Nav, Roy Wood$, Haviah Mighty and Belly, plus 6ixBuzz favourites Ramriddlz, and Chromazz.
It’s a solid and comprehensive lineup, featuring plenty of international talent — Rema! Skepta! — though one can’t help but notice that it’s a bit of a dude fest. In fact, according to the festival poster, there are no women on the first two lines of each day, and only a handful on the third line.
Fortunately, Brampton’s own Haviah Mighty, who won the 2019 Polaris Prize, will perform on the Saturday.
Another notable absence, of course, is Drake. Will the Toronto rapper make an appearance? Or will he save his energy for the 2022 edition of OVO Fest, which is set to take place in August?
Rolling Loud was founded in Miami in 2015 by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif. Since then, the festival has expanded in size and scope, and now includes events across the U.S. and even Portugal.
Tickets to Rolling Loud Toronto go on sale this Friday, April 29 at 12 p.m.
