Arlington Bridge closed indefinitely after structural condition assessment

The Arlington bridge is closed to traffic indefinitely as of this afternoon.

The results of a bridge condition assessment prompted the City of Winnipeg to immediately close the bridge. The city has been aware of the need to replace the more than 100 year old bridge and the condition assessment shed more light on steel corrosion and structural issues that make annual repairs on the bridge non-feasible, the city stated in a news release.
