A woman in Edmonton has been arrested in the four-year investigation into a 44-year-old woman who was found dead in a house police say was deliberately set on fire in 2021.
The fire occurred Sept. 21, 2021, at 510 Young St. Faye Sanderson, a 44-year-old woman from Mosakahiken Cree Nation who was living in Winnipeg, was found dead in the home. Foul play was believed to be a factor and the Winnipeg Police Service homicide unit began investigating.
A warrant for second-degree murder was obtained. On March 4 of this year, investigators arrested and charged 35-year-old Kendra Leanne Sinclair from the Edmonton Institution for Women in Alberta. Police believe the victim and the suspect knew each other.
