Berens River School up in flames: RCMP

Firefighters are battling a blaze that engulfed Berens River School in the early hours of the morning Tuesday.
RCMP confirmed its Berens River detachment received an emergency call about a fire inside the community’s school around 3 a.m.
The school, which runs kindergarten through Grade 9 programming, was empty at the time. No injuries have been reported.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner has been made aware of the situation, RCMP said.
Berens River Adult Learning Centre has cancelled classes for the day in response. “What a sad day for Berens River,” the learning centre wrote in a post on Facebook.
