OTTAWA — With 2:09 remaining in the fourth quarter, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the ball trailing 23-17 to the Ottawa Redblacks, the game has halted owing to a severe weather delay.
There was heavy rain for much of the game, but lightning started to appear in the second half, eventually getting close enough to enact a weather delay. According to the CFL’s rules, since the game is past the midway mark of the third quarter, if the weather doesn’t ease up after 60 minutes, the game is declared over and the Redblacks would earn the win.
The Bombers are 0-1 after losing to the Montreal Alouettes in Week 1. The Redblacks had the bye.
