Zach Collaros’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Lawler in the game’s dying moments lifted the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to a 26-23 triumph over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Princess Auto Stadium.
Winnipeg improved to 5-6 on the season, just one point behind the Saskatchewan Roughriders for the top spot in the West Division. Hamilton dropped to 2-9.
Collaros’ late heroics salvaged an otherwise uninspiring performance. The Bombers quarterback finished 18-for-36 for 177 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.
Brady Oliveira led the offence with 18 carries for 120 yards and had one catch for eight yards.
The Bombers travel to Regina to face the Roughriders in Sunday’s Labour Day Classic.
