The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed quarterback Chris Streveler, the CFL club announced Wednesday.

Streveler, who inked a one-year contract, returns to Winnipeg after spending the last four years in the NFL. He was with the Bombers for two seasons, including helping them snap a lengthy Grey Cup drought in 2019, before signing with the Arizona Cardinals.

The 6-1, 216-pound pivot also spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. The Free Press reported two weeks ago that the 29-year-old was eyeing a return to the CFL and that the Bombers were the front-runners.

The Bombers still have plenty of work to do, with several pending free agents still on the roster, including running back Brady Oliveira and receiver Dalton Schoen. CFL free agency officially opens on Feb. 13, with a “legal tampering” period — between Feb. 4 and 11 — coming up, allowing players to speak with other teams before the market opens.
