Manitobans are invited to sign a book of condolences for former U.S. president Jimmy Carter, who died Sunday.

The book will available in the lobby of the U.S. consulate’s building, at 201 Portage Ave., until 4 p.m. Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Monday.

Carter, who was the oldest former U.S. president and had the longest post-presidency, lived to age 100. He was president from 1977 to 1981.

Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, visited Winnipeg to work on and promote Habitat for Humanity projects in 1993 and 2017.
