A 14-year-old boy is charged with second-degree murder after a man was fatally stabbed in Long Plain First Nation.
A vehicle with a 26-year-old injured man inside pulled up to the Long Plain detachment of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service at about 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 24.
Officers gave him first aid until emergency crews arrived. He was transported to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police determined the vehicle had stopped at a home in the community to drop off another passenger when a boy walked out of the home and confronted the victim about stolen property.
The boy got inside the vehicle and stabbed the victim, RCMP said in a news release Monday.
MFNPS officers arrested a boy on the night of the incident. He was charged the next day and remanded into custody.
The MFNPS and RCMP are investigating.
