A 13-year-old boy has been charged after he allegedly smashed a store window and stole about $500 worth of merchandise in Windsor Park.

The incident happened at Windsor Park Convenience at 845 Elizabeth Rd. at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 23.

Police determined a boy had broken the window with a baseball bat, causing about $4,000 worth of damage, before stealing items and fleeing.

The boy, who was already in police custody on an unrelated charge, was arrested again Tuesday morning and has been charged with breaking and entering for the convenience store incident. He was detained in custody.
